It is difficult to fathom how on earth you
can so easily forget the password that you have been using for years. But then,
it happened to me before. It was really frustrating when you were in that kind
of situation. I was stuck at the ATM trying to access my bank
account to withdraw some money.
Password
after password that I tried but not successful. I still refused to admit that I
had totally forgotten my password. The words – Access denied- appeared again
and again. Then the final straw came when it was confiscated by the machine. I
was totally blank. I was thinking at that moment perhaps somebody had changed
my password to withdraw my hard-earned money.
It
was also embarrassing as the others were waiting impatiently for their turns.
Their stares and cynical looks were unbearable. Perhaps they were thinking that
I was a crook who was trying to crack the code of the ATM to steal the money.
On
that particular afternoon I had to go through the hassle of getting the bank to
issue a new credit card. I had to explain everything and fill in a new form
with all my particulars before getting the new card. After that brief lapse of
memory, I tried not to be egoistic. It was better and safer to jot down the new password in a booklet. You
might think you can remember but do remember too sometimes your memory suddenly
fails you and gets you into trouble.
In
this computer age, there are so many passwords that you need not only to open
your computer but also all kinds of files and your dealings with other
financial institutions. Again it is better to record your passwords and keep
them in a safe place – maybe in a big safe. Again, please remember the code
combination numbers! Otherwise you need a blacksmith to open your safe.
